うちは双子の障害児がいて、生まれてからずっとおむつをしています。
そのため、45リットルのごみ袋が2日くらいでいっぱいになります。

中に入っているのは、ほとんどがおむつ。

「すぐにパンパンになるなー」とぼやきながらゴミ袋の口をとじます。

ごみ出しは面倒だけど

今は体も元気だし、ごみ出しが面倒だと思っても自分でできます。
でも、これが30年後、40年後となったらどうなるのか。
2日に一度、45Lのごみ袋を出すのがしんどくなる日は確実にやってくると思っています。

「子どもたちの世話は、できる限り自分で見たい」
とは思っても80歳になっても今と同じことができるかといえば、正直無理があるとも感じます。

そう考えると、今この「面倒だな」と思いながらごみを出せること自体が、
ある意味ではしあわせの一つ、とも思います。

……まあ、それでもやっぱり面倒ですけどね（笑）

A Garbage Bag That Fills Up in About Two Days

We have twin children with disabilities, and they have been wearing diapers since birth.
Because of that, our 45-liter garbage bag fills up in about two days.

Most of what’s inside is diapers.

While tying up the bag, I often mutter, “It gets full so quickly.”

Taking Out the Trash Is a Hassle, But…

Right now, I’m physically healthy, so even if taking out the trash feels like a hassle, I can still do it myself.
But what about 30 or 40 years from now?
The day will surely come when taking out a 45L bag every two days will be physically difficult.

I want to take care of my children for as long as I can,
but if I think about whether I could still do this at 80 years old, I have to admit it might be unrealistic.

Thinking about it that way, being able to take the trash out now—even while grumbling about it—is, in a sense, a small happiness in itself.

…Still, it’s a hassle, no matter how you look at it. (laughs)
